Ramil "Mel" Cabodil is TIEMS Regional Director for Asia
Ramil "Mel" Cabodil is the Country Manager of Technology Support Services in IBM Philippines. He leads the business unit that provides proactive and predictive support services to various IBM Clients in the country. He was the Consulting Practice Leader of IBM-Global Technology Services in ASEAN. He was responsible for the development of Infrastructure Consulting Business in the region, leading a group of Associate Partners for Systems Services, Resiliency, Hybrid Cloud and Network Services. He has over 25 years of experience working with reputable and dynamic multi-national information technology companies. He has been a technical professional on his early years in the IT industry, working on hardware, software, systems development, maintenance and management. His experience and competency led him to various management roles in consulting, sales, pre-sales, project delivery and general business management.
He led SMEs and IT practitioners from various countries to deliver information technology solution in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific region. His passion for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery and the need for the Philippines to have a more resilient business infrastructure prompted him to organize a non-government organization of Business Continuity Management Practitioners. He is the founder and the current President of the Business Continuity Managers Association of the Philippines (BCMAP). This is a membership organization of BC/DR Practitioners in the country affiliated with the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) of USA and The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) of UK. He also recently established DRI Philippines, a local affiliate of DRI International in the country. DRI International provides training and certification for Business Continuity Professionals globally. He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology, Manila, Philippines., and IBM Executive Program in INSEAD Asia Campus, Singapore.
